[v4.5] A NEW option has been added to the CFG file to control whether
or not you wish to have the door LOG callers (ON/OFF) to a
USAGE file. A separate file is created for each Node.
02/15/96
[v4.4] ALIAS option NOT working properly.
When entering a message, the body of the message was being
converted to upper case. With this version we will not
convert to upper case.
Added 'last date played' to Bulletins for NON-InterBBS only
If a Player logged on prior to midnight on the last day of the
month and plays past midnight on the 1st of the new month, the
monthly maintenance routine would 'kick in' during the players
logon.
07/03/95
[v4.3] Added a NEW option that will allow the player to send/read a
message to any other game players. The player will also be
given the option of replying to a message they have just read.
All messages will be maintained within the Door itself and will
have no connection to the BBS message bases.
Added another CFG option to control the new message option
The InterBBS program creates a Prior Month Top 10 file. The
file will be displayed whenever the player requests a High
Score display and/or at door exit, if the .T10 file is found
in the Door directory!
01/08/95
[v4.2] Eliminated the 'ANSI not detected....' message since there are
a few communications packages out there that give off their
own type of ANSI.
If using the TRIBBS.SYS system file, the door always presented
the opening screen in black and white. Will now be presented
in color.
A first time caller to the Door was being given a black and
white screen throughout the Door. The caller would then have
to use the Door option to toggle the color on. The Door will
now default to having the color turned on and the caller will
have to use the color toggle, on the game menu, to turn it off.
The Door knows that the caller is the Sysop, if the caller is
record #1 in the BBS' user database. The BBS software passes
that record number to the door via the system file. Some BBS
software does not pass the actual record number but passes a
relative number (ie: record #1 is passed as record #0). If the
number being passsed is 0, the Door will not know it is the
Sysop calling. We will now recognize the caller as the Sysop
if their record number is 0 or 1.
As more and more BBS' use Alias', we have been asked to
provide a way for the callers to use their Alias' rather
than their LogonName. All Sunrise Doors will now have this
Sysop configurable option in the CFG file.
If participating in an InterBBS game, the number of games per
day will NOT be overridden by the security specific entries in
the CFG file.
08/14/94
[v4.1] A new option has been added to the CFG file to control the
number of high score entries you wish to be displayed when
the player chooses the appropriate option OR when they are
leaving the game. There is no maximum/minmum that can be
displayed OR you can use ZERO(0) to display ALL entries.
If the XXXX/YYYY entries in the CFG file were entered in
LOWERCASE, the Door would display a CFG error and return to BBS
Using a NEW entry in the CFG, you can now define the number of
months to retain in the HALL of FAME files.
Changed some of the menu option letter choices to accomodate
the Color option.
Added a new option to the playing menu that allows the player
to toggle the Color On/Off.
You will have to run a conversion program called USREXPND
(included in the Door ZIP file). This program is to be run ONCE
ONLY if you are upgrading from an earlier version of the Door.
If you do not wish to run the conversion program you can just
delete the .USR file (deleting the USR file causes the game to
start over with all prior scores being lost).
03/14/94
[v4.0] Past problems with large values in the Door.Sys or other System
Files (Drop Files) generating an OVERLOW (Error 6) error, have
been resolved.
When the Door displays the opening screen, it asks if you want
instructions and you are forced to enter a Y or N. This was
installed to handle problems encountered when using Digiboards.
With this release you can choose whether you want to force a
y/n OR if you want to use the y/N format which allows the
player to press ENTER for the default N. You must update your
CFG file, see DOC file.
12/06/93
[v3.9] The program was not handling any point loss correctly when
running as an InterBBS game.
11/26/93
[v3.8] If running InterBBS and you are a HUB and it is the first of
the month and a current player (already in the score file)
plays the game BEFORE you have run INTERBBS.EXE with the HUB
option, the player's score for the prior month will be lost
(it was being overlaid by the new score for the month).
On the board display there is a place titled "High Score to
Beat". The score being referenced is the highest score posted
in the score file of those playing the game. The program was
not posting the correct score, but is now. It will always
reflect the highest score posted.
The Makeup days option and number of games played/remaining,
was not working properly if you left the game and came back
in to continue playing. You never lost any turns/games since
the turns/games would readjust the next day.
When playing in an InterBBS game, the BULLETINS created will
reflect the same screen as that seen when looking at the
Door's high scores (will not affect non-InterBBS games).
The Hiscore display when in the InterBBS mode, has changed.
The number of games a player has PLAYED will be shown in the
space previously occupied by the LAST DATE PLAYED. With this
change a player can now tell if the players around them have
played all their games to date or are possibly holding back.
Multiplying today's day number by the number of games allowed
per day will give the total number of PLAYS a player should
have if they are CURRENT.
Non-registered version will automatically reset the player's
scores anywhere from the 22nd thru 29th day of use
If playing InterBBS, the Score display will flash the player's
name to make it easier for them to spot their position in the
top scores.
09/28/93
[v3.7] If you were using PAIR3 in an InterBBS mode AND there were
duplicate names being used between some of the BBS' (ie:
SYSOP on one BBS and SYSOP on another) then the program was
duplicating names in the score file. In addition to using
this new version, you MUST delete the PAIR3.ISC file and
allow the program to recreate it correctly.
08/27/93
[v3.6] Introducing an INTER-BBS option whereby players may compete
against players from any number of other BBS', running
3-Pair Poker.. See Docs for a more indepth explanation as
well as an explanation of the new CFG option.
Added a Screen Refresh option.
Added an option to display the High Scores at any time
during the game.
Added an option to display the Instructions at any time
during the game.
For technical reasons, we no longer support CHAIN.TXT
06/19/93
[v3.5] Removed delay at start of game
Added support for the PCBoard /M version
03/12/93
[v3.4] Now supports Comm Ports 0-15
Hall of Fame routine was working only partially. Correct
player was listed in HOF, but with a blank score.
If no one played the door or if the highest score obtained
during the month was zero, the game will NOT show a Hall of
Fame entry for the month.
Callers will be required to answer the "Want Instructions.."
question with a Y or N. This was required to circumvent a
problem encountered when running under WildCat's IM version.
Hall of Fame display was always displaying in color, regardless
of the color setting of the current session.
12/25/92
[v3.3] BRUN45.EXE no longer required!
Added support for Fossil-based Multi-port cards!
New Configuration option to allow Sysop to choose whether
they want the computer to allocate 99 games to them or if
they just want to be like any other caller.
Corrected an alignment problem with the SUNHOF.ASC/ANS files.
All entries, from this point on, will be aligned properly.
You will have to manually align the existing entries (after
the next monthly maintenance run).
The Hall of Fame list will now be displayed to the player
after the High Scores (if the SUNHOF.ANS is found and the
Door is registered)
10/16/92
[v3.2] Added support for TRIBBS software. We now access the
TRIBBS.SYS system file directly!
After a CHAT or DROP-TO-DOS the game screen will now be
restored to its original state.
A bug has existed in the monthly Hall of Fame routines
whereby the wrong player may have been credited with being
the high scorer for a particular month.
Unable to turn off the ADOPT-A-DOOR display thru the
configuration file. Fixed!
06/17/92
[v3.1] Code was not included in v3.0 to create the HOF bulletins
at end of month and HOF entries were not included in the
configuration file. See Doc for config update!
06/12/92
[v3.0] Major revision, therefore the version number jump!!
Added a MAKE-UP-PLAYS feature that allows the caller to makeup
game plays they may have missed during the current month. This
will afford those callers that do not call every day, an equal
chance to compete with callers that play every day.
Config file lines 6 and 7 have changed!!!!!!!
Be sure to read Documentation!!!
Automatic game reset will take place when the first caller of
the month plays the game. Two Hall of Fame bulletin files will
be created (SUNHOF.ANS and SUNHOF.ASC) and all scores cleared.
Be sure to read the Documentation!!!
>>>>>>>>>> NOTE: You MUST discontinue use of SUNHOF.EXE for this DOOR!!!!
You can now use an environmental variable for Non-Standard
IRQs. This will eliminate the need to have multiple batch
files to execute the door. See DOCs under NON-STANDARD COM
SUPPORT for details.
You can now use environmental variables, on the first line
of the configuration file. This will eliminate the requirement
that you create an individual configuration file for each node
in a multinode environment (ONE config file for ALL nodes!!).
See DOCs under MULTI-NODE SETUP for details.
Made some changes to fix the TIMEOUT errors encountered
when usinga 486 with/without DesqView. Need feedback !!
Made some changes to correct the Error #6 (Overflow Error)
when using SpitFire version 3.2/SFDOORS.DAT. I need some
feedback on this one as well!
Added support for GT Power's GTUSER.BBS file. To use this
you will be required to add to lines to your configuration
files. Please see Docs for changes. Need some feedback on
this as well!
12/29/91
[v2.0] Added an option to control when you DO NOT want the DOOR
to be used. Allows for 5 Blackout periods. This requires
a configuration file change. SEE DOCS for DETAILS!
11/01/91
[v1.9] Added an option to control the number of plays per day,
based upon then user's security level. This requires a
configuration file change. SEE DOCS for DETAILS!
Added an option to control the length of time the game
may be played (each time caller enters the Door), based
upon the user's security level. This requires a
configuration file change. SEE DOCS for DETAILS!
10/17/91
[v1.8] Added a colorized Bulletin. Config file change !!
Changes to internal routines.
09/06/91
[v1.7] Re-adjusted delay values in non-registered version.
08/23/91
[v1.6] Changes made to several internal routines.
07/18/91
[v1.5] If ANSI not detected, caller has option to contimue or
return to BBS. No longer denies access to game, outright!
If Sysop uses the door, he/she is given 99 chances to play
the game. Rgistered versions ONL!
Added support for Wildcat! v3.0 (See Docs.. Config file!)
Added support for WWIV BBS' (See Docs.. Config file [untested])
Under certain circumstances the computer turn would pass the
same discard back to the player as the player passed to the
computer. I believe I found this critter, if not let me know!
Under certain circumstances the program would hang the system
after displaying the ADOPT-A-DOOR screen
07/01/91
[v1.4] Registered verions were not displaying the ADOPT.SYS file.
06/26/91
[v1.3] Bulletin was not being created in registered versions
